After Naours we headed to Neufchâtel-en-Bray on a foggy morning. The leaves of all colours are scattered over the roads.

We stopped off at Grand-Laviers ornithology park so Glenn could check out the birds.

After a short stop we got going as we wanted to make sure we got into the Neufchâtel-en-Bray aire. We made it while there were 2 free spots . The next van came about 15 minutes later to fill it up - so we were just there in time.

We did a bit of boring cleaning out cupboards and the garage, then had a movie night in as we had an early morning next day.

We got up at 7am to get ready for the 1 hour drive to Dieppe to catch the ferry. We tried to find boulangerie on the way but either couldn’t find a parking spot or they were closed in the Saturday after a bank holiday. We found a grocery shop selling baguettes - the best we could do.

We arrived in Dieppe and checked in straight away, getting the inside of the van and the garage checked for stowaways. After a coffee we were loaded on.

We were the first ones upstairs- usually we are the last. We snagged prime position looking out the back.

It was a flat crossing with good views of Dieppe as we left.

We arrived in Newhaven before we knew it - and after some good duty free shopping.

It was Saturday so there was no traffic to Hove. Before we knew it we were sitting down with Kate enjoying a gin and tonic. Unfortunately Rob was hiding upstairs with the flu.

We had a nice quiet night catching up before going to sleep in a proper bed - the first for a few weeks.
