Packing up and back to Oz

We got back to Somerset to my brother Grant and Anne’s place. Mum had flown down from Scotland to catch up with us too.

We weren’t very good company as we were busy cleaning Gus ready for his winter in storage.

We did however have time to see my nieces - Kerry with new arrival Phoenix - and Jess who is expecting early next year. At least our family are keeping the population numbers up - Glenn won’t be happy with that 🤣🤣🤣.

We had a great time including a very authentic Indian dinner at Gudi and Gikki in Taunton with Grant, Anne and Mum - it was delicious.

Too soon it was time to head off on our train to Heathrow - then flight to Sydney - all very straightforward.

We then had less than a week to our next adventure- a 4 day kayaking and camping trip over 150 km between Wellington and Narromine in western NSW. Our tents and luggage are moved each day and food is provided. It’s very tough - particularly if you have done no training like us.

We went with Lisa (Glenn’s sister) and Sean.

Lisa and I took the afternoons off - apart from on the last day for me. We didn’t get a rest in the afternoon - we worked hard in the kitchen helping make dinner for around 70 people.

Here are the 60 or so paddlers coming up the finishing straight on the last day - Sunday.

That night we stayed at Glenn’s brother Pete and wife Gerry’s place in Dubbo. We went out for another delicious Indian dinner to celebrate Gerry’s birthday.

We are now back home in Sydney enjoying the hot weather and swimming at the beach - with a few storms!

We will soon start planning our trip for next year.

Until then - have a great Christmas and we hope to hear from you!!
