A very Burns Day

Since we were near Alloway where Robert Burns was born and lived, we had to go and check our several locations.

Walking from the museum were several Burns related statues - and then we visited his birthplace. At the time it had 2 rooms. The family moved out when the 5th child arrived.

Then we saw locations mentioned in the poem Tam O'Shanter-

Old Alloway Church where Tam sees the witches.

The bridge where Cutty Sark pulls off the horse's tail.

We saw Burns mentioned in lots of places we travelled through that day - as he got around.

We drove via Dumfries to buy a tv for the van - coincidentally where Burns lived towards the end of his life - and died there.

We then stopped for the night in Ballantrae - a very beautiful village - helped by the sunshine!
