After a rainy start and getting Gus fully supplied we headed off for lunch with my sister in law Anne's family - Mum and Dad Teresa and Hamish and sisters Catriona and Jacqui. We had a lovely catch up and bored everyone about motorhoming and got exciting updates on what was happening in Oban - and advice on what we had to check out while here.

Teresa and Hamish were keen yachties so we were able to compare the interior workings of Gus to yachts - and discuss the issues of running out of water.
After lunch we walked up to McCaig's Tower - the large monument above Oban. We were lucky to get sunshine to be able to enjoy the views.
After Jacqui very kindly gave us lots of venison from the results of Colin's hunting - thanks so much! - we headed off down the Mull of Kintyre - made famous by Paul McCartney in the 80s.
We pulled up for the night on the edge of the Crinan canal - a very peaceful spot. We had an interesting drink with a couple of lady yachties who had come over from Ireland , through the Caledonian canal and now heading through the Crinan Canal. We all ran for cover when the next stormy downpour arrived.
We enjoyed some local smoked salmon pate as starters for dinner - yummy! We are also well stocked with hot smoked salmon for another day. No one is going hungry on this trip 🌝🌝🌝.
What a life you are having and such good food . You won’t want to return to Oz
