We cycled south from our campsite on the excellent cycle path to start the 41km circuit of Lake Annecy. We got some stunning views at our first stop after a few kms.

The next stop was a nature reserve on the south of the lake that we walked around for a few kilometers. There were natural orchids and interesting paths through the area.
We then moved on to find an interesting spot for lunch - a ramshackle cabin where we had an unhealthy lunch of burger and chips - but it tasted good when we were so hungry.
With full bellies we then had to tackle the big hill on the route - up some hairpin bends. We walked up the hill which took some time - and then very much enjoyed the long downhill section taking us nearly to Annecy.
At Annecy we found a good lakeside icecream spot and recovered our energy to do the last 11km stretch.

We made it back to the campsite and enjoyed a swim in the lake. It was cooling off so this was the first evening we needed to wear a jumper. We had a good catch up with the Steve and Anne Marie from Eastbourne for a few drinks. It was good to talk with like minded people - who speak English! We were not the last people in bed at 11pm.
