We headed off from Forfar to the very posh Gleneagles Hotel in the middle of Scotland to do an off-road driving course with Richard Scott who runs the area including falconry - courtesy of Charlie, his dad.
Richard showed us the ropes and made it look very easy - and made us very nervous before our go.

This is the 'before' version while it was still clean.

This is during- before dunking the Land Rover in a river.

This is 'after' when it's all a bit grubby.
It was great fun - and good to learn that the Land Rover actually does all the braking work coming down steep hills using the engine - no pedals required - just steering.
Thanks very much to Charlie for the experience- and great to meet Richard too!!
Then we did a tour of the birds in the falconry section. Gleneagles has over 40 birds - some on holiday moulting - but we saw many.
We then checked out the hotel - very impressive it is too! But beyond our price range to stay - so back to the Motorhome.
But we did stop for lunch at the clubhouse (Gleneagles has 2 major golf courses). And very delicious it was too.
Then we headed off towards Oban in the rain and mist - with some spectacular views along the way.
We stopped in Fearnoch Forest - near Oban- one of the forests where Scottish forestry allows motorhomes to stop overnight for 7 GBP - a good deal.
We went for a quick walk to see the big wood ant hills peculiar to this area before the rain started coming down - and that was us cosy in Gus for the night.
Wow what an educational day. Is Gus going ‘off-road’ too? You guys are certainly experiencing a lot. Well done
You are really having a fun time. And the lunch looks yummy. Xxoo
Wow. Spectacular. And lovely photo of you two with the Land Rover. You both look very happy
