Invershin Falls, Tarbet Ness and Balintore

First of all we went to Invershin Falls to see if we could spot any salmon jumping up the falls. I saw 1 but it was too quick to get a photo. But a lovely spot though.

Unfortunately no cafe or shop - everything closed over covid, even including 'Harrods of the north' owned by Mohamed El Fayad.

Then headed via Tain pottery and some retail therapy to Tarbet Ness lighthouse near Portmahomack. Lovely views north to Golspie and south to the Aberdeenshire coast.

On the way to our evening stop in Balintore we checked out the Old Nigg Church with an ancient Pictish stone from the 700s. The church had probably been a place of worship since then - with many of the preachers believed to have supernatural powers.

Then onto Balintore a small fishing village on the Moray Firth. It's a very pretty town. It's free to stay the night in the pub car park provided you use the pub - which was no problem as the food was very good - Scottish and French - and a good selection of drink on tap. We had a lovely night sitting in the sun in the beer garden.

Looks like the supernatural powers of the area have conjured you an extra Glenn! Nice photos.
