Here's a 1955 German motorhome that stopped next to us before we left.

The single track roads are spectacular but challenging sometimes - just wide enough for Gus. Luckily we didn't meet any cars between passing places and we didn't meet any tourists who didn't know how to drive on single track roads- though there are supposed to be many!
We stopped at Achiltibue and found some locally smoked haddock. Then went on to Lochinver Pottery. The pottery was lovely but the highlights were the pottery sofas and tv sets outside.
We then headed across the country - with many lochans containing water lilies.
Ardvrek Castle from 1490 was a stunning sight in the mist.

Nick who we were supposed to be staying with at Rosehall was in hospital.
We landed unexpectedly at Colin's instead who was very accommodating. He showed us the farm next door that was abandoned 25 years ago.
Barn owls had moved in and had 5 chicks.
I was able to throw together a Cullen Skink and bramble and apple crumble at the last minute for a good Scottish dinner.
What the hell is a Cullen skink. Did you make lizard pie!!! Views are lovely, wish we were there too
