We got packing to get ready for our week in an Airbnb in Venice. We went to buy our weekly ferry ticket without luggage to make it easier and also to have a coffee at the cafe at the Punta Sabbione ferry terminal on the Lido di Jesolo.

Glenn's coffee and croissant were gone by the time I took the photo.

We then went back, got our bags and then left in the ferry.

We changed ferry at the Venice Lido and then the next smaller ferry went up the Grand Canal. There were some gondolas trapped in beside the ferries.

It wasn’t very relaxing for the girls being serenaded with the big waves all around.

We saw lots of famous Venice buildings.

We arrived at our stop and had a short 3 minute walk to the apartment. We were 30 minutes early so sat down at the restaurant opposite to have some lunch while we waited. However the check in person for the Airbnb arrived and I was able to get in and get the key and get back to lunch. We enjoyed our pasta and beer.

After lunch we left our luggage and went for a walk to check everything out. We walked up many small passages and over bridges with gondolas going underneath.

We saw a church with impressive columns and had to go in to check it out.

We found the Rialto bridge - with lots of people on it.

Heading back to the apartment we saw some other sights and also paintings in a hotel with an exhibition. The painting with the symbolic lion of Venice was quite stunning.

We did a shop of essentials and then waited for Angela and Oliver to arrive from Mainz in Germany.

When they arrived we had some welcome drinks and then headed downstairs to a pizzeria - only 20 meters away. After a good dinner we went back to the apartment for a good sleep.
