We got up to nice sunshine - a novelty after quite a few days with rain. Gus was looking well on the farm campsite.

I bought some string squash, olives and wine from the little farm honesty box for 10 euro.
We then found our way out of the narrow streets and drove along the windy roads on the coast through Imperia and other beautiful seaside towns with the mountains rising up on our right hand side.
We then went up onto the freeway very high above, either on bridges or through tunnels. Of course these are toll roads where you take a ticket at the first toll plaza and then put it into the machine at the next toll stop and pay for how far you have to travelled.
There were hundreds of huge greenhouses where they are growing vegetables.
We went across the border to France at one of these. There was 1 lone policeman and we didn’t even get looked at.
We then went above the towns of Menton, Monaco and Nice. We will check them out another year.
We got off the freeway at Saint Tropez and drove the normal roads to Aix-en-Provence.
We found a nice campsite at the base of the Sainte Victoire mountain that Paul Cezanne painted 30 times in different lights. He was born here and spent most of his life here. The mountain was his main subject.
We got settled in and got some laundry on. The pool was now closed as it was getting cold - but it would have been quite luxurious in the sunshine.
We had a nice warm salmon red curry with string squash in it - very nice. It wasn’t long before it started getting cool. We found our winter pyjamas - mine are flannelette - and soon we were in bed - nice and cosy.
